10 Morning Habits of Geniuses

Updated: Aug 5, 2020

The famous expert Brain coach, Jim Kwik came up with 10-morning habits which will jumpstart your brain for greater levels of success, focus, and productivity throughout your day.

1. Remember your dreams: As you spend your day learning, working and solving problems in your work or in your life. When you sleep, your brain doesn't stop. Your unconscious mind keeps working on those problems, as a result, you come up with incredible insights and solutions in the form of dreams. Unfortunately, most of people don't remember their dream or they don't care about them. Here's your new challenge, try to remember your dreams right after you open your eyes. This small simple exercise can help your brain and body to wake up and get rid of laziness, in addition to this it helps you to improve your memory in the long term.

2. Make your bed: Why is making your bed can be good for your brain?

Simply, those small movements you do while making your bed can activate your brain and help your body to wake up and get ready to a new day in a smooth way. The second reason is, a clean space is important for you. A clean environment means a clean mind and of course, the state of your mind affects your productivity. The third reason is, you want to start your day with success because how you do anything is how you do everything. That's why you need to start with excellence. After all, it's a circle of success. You come back home at night after a long work day to a clean space that welcomes you to take the rest you deserve and to recharge your power for the next day.

3. Drink Lots of water: Your brain is mostly water about 80/ water. Your whole body needs water to function properly. It's extremely important to stay hydrated, particularly in the morning. Your body loses a lot of water in sleeping so drink water first thing in the morning. We all know the benefits of drink a glass of water on an empty stomach.

4. Brush your teeth with the opposite hand: Studies showed that when you brush your teeth or do small tasks with the opposite hand, " as your body moves, your brain grooves". Brushing your teeth with your opposite hand helps your brain to create more neural connections. The connections of neurons are responsible for learning and memory. Moreover, they allow your body to communicate.

5. Deep breathing exercises: oxygen is important for your brain. Lack of oxygen can cause many health problems. Some people feel tired all the time (physical and mental fatigue) and they suffer from brain fog, they can't focus on anything. So they start taking vitamins supplements or energy boost pills, while what they really need is more oxygen and their solution is breathing exercises. The brain is only 2/ of the body weight but it consumes more than 20/ of nutrients and oxygen. For this reason, you need to include "deep breathing exercise" in your morning routines.

6. Journaling: Journaling While having your morning tea helps you to boost your brain power. When you plan your day and take notes of tasks you want to fulfill in your day you organize your mind and you clean it from the unnecessary Chaos. Write some gratitude, Jim Kwik believes that when you count things you have helps you to achieve your goals. He believes that gratitude thrives your brain power. Most of the geniuses used to write their Journals. Leonardo da Vinci, Einstein, Marie Curie, and many others.

7.Workout: 5 minutes of high-intensity workout in the morning is excellent for your brain. This kind of workout gets your heart beating going which makes more blood flow to your brain and automatically more oxygen.

8. Brainpower smoothie: Jim named this smoothie "Brainpower smoothie" because it contains a variety of different foods which are great for the brain.

Blueberries, avocado, walnuts, turmeric, broccoli, dark chocolate, Egg, green leafy vegetables, coconut oil.

Try to make your own brainpower smoothie from those brain food, or just blend everything and drink it as Jim Kwik.

9. Reading: Enjoy your "brain power smoothie" while reading. Dedicate 20 to 30 minutes to reading every morning, because the leaders are readers. Most successful people like CEOs read a book or two in a week. Make sure to read more.

10. Win your day: Sleep early and wake up early.
