The difference between collaborate and cooperate could be a little bit confusing. Both are used to describe effective teamwork and most of the time they go hand to hand but they are and the same.

Collaboration is working together to create something new either a project or an assignment. It's about sharing the same vision and exchanging ideas to reach the same goal.

Example: A group of lawyers are collaborating to win the case.

Cooperation is a pross that allows various people or organization to work on the same project for neutral individual benefits. Instead of competing, we help each other for the benefit of both of us individually.

Example: The "x company" is cooperating with "y organization" on this project.

The company is sponsoring the project as a way of publicity, while the organization is in need of a fictional resource to finish the project.

Work together for individual benefits. A win-win deal.
